St. Patrick's Day is coming!

When M was tiny I got really into doing crafts with her but they were all over her head and I got frustrated, life then happened and I got out of the habit of doing this fun stuff with them.

Today I decided it was time to get back in the flow of things. Now both M and S are of an age that we can actually have fun with them. M is capable of doing it alone, where S needs more one on one help. Our adventures today lead us to make a Shamrock crown in preparation for the Big March 17th. Here is what we made!

Catching Up

I've been a slacker blogger lately. So sorry - life has a way of keeping me busy!

For Thanksgiving, we got a wonderful surprise and found out we are expecting again. I battled daily all-day nausea for a while and that came to an end with me promptly discovering I now have hypertension... fun fun, so we've been taking it easy and I've been staying away from my 'puter a little just because I think there are better ways for me to spend my time with the girls.

Excuses, excuses!

Well we've been busy with the basics of school, keeping things going and trying to add more fun stuff in. We stopped our Art classes for a while, so we could focus just on Ballet class once a week and Brownie Girl scouts.

For M we've started a 50 states lapbook which might turn into a notebook instead just because there was so much cutting and pasting to do that it became tedious. (did I forget to mention I hate cut and paste... and while m could do it, that would be all we'd do for days on end! LOL!) So far we're finishing up Delaware, which I think might take 2 weeks, because while we've covered the basics of the State, we still have a bunch to read and learn.

Well, while we were doing that S decided she wanted something too. So this past week we decided to get started on the Letter of the Week Program. We're doing the prep curriculum, because until now she hasn't really had any desire to know her alphabet or counting. Now for my part, I don't believe that she "needs" to be doing anything more than having fun and learning as she goes, but she is asking to do stuff, and this seems easy and fun for her, so we're running with it. No pushing, no pressure as long as it fun we'll keep doing it.

I'll be back in bit to post S's totbook! And links to M's also!
