Things got delayed quite a bit. So we're a week behind.
Over the weekend, Giraffe posted a couple of Meteorologist items on the DIY.org at this point she is one item away from earning the Meteorology patch. I love that she understands things enough to explain them in a video or post photos of what she is up to! DIY patches are just another kinda fun way to cement the ideas a little.
Monday
- Read - Flash, Crash, Rumble, and Roll by Franklyn M. Branley.
- Read The Storm Book by Charlotte Zolotow.
- Complete The Mailbox Investigating Weather, Grades 1-3 "Storms: Lightning Safety" (page 28). We talked about this, as she wasn't interested in doing the project and time was a little tight.
- Complete The Mailbox Investigating Weather, Grades 1-3 "Storms: A Thunderstorm Is Building" (page 27). We've covered this in a couple previous units, more talking than physically doing, so we talked this through really quickly!
- Complete The Mailbox Investigating Weather, Grades 1-3 "Storms: A Few Words About Weather" (page 27). This was kinda cute, but again there were other things she was interested in doing, so we talked, and she left and she has a really good handle
- Watche Bill Nye the Science Guy: Storms DVD by Disney.
Tuesday
- Read - Hurricane & Tornado by Jack Challoner
- Read - Otis and the Tornado by Loren Long.
- Complete The Mailbox Investigating Weather, Grades 1-3 "Storms: A Twister in a Jar" (page 29).

- Read Hurricane by David Wiesner.
- Read Hurricane by Jonathan London
- Complete The Mailbox Investigating Weather, Grades 1-3 "Storms: In the Eye of the Storm" (page 28).
